A rumor, promulgated mainly by
email, has been brought to the attention of the Casper – Natrona
County Health Department. This rumor states that an employee of a
local fast food outlet specializing in chicken made a video tape of
other employees involved in unsanitary activities while preparing
food items, that this video tape was supplied to the Health
Department, and that the Health Department has subsequently levied
monetary fines against the fast food establishment.
To the best of our knowledge at
the Casper-Natrona County Health Department these allegations are
totally false. No video tape has been provided to the Department, no
fines have been levied by the Department and, during routine
inspections of the facility, no problems that would pose an imminent
hazard to the public were identified.
In point of fact, the Health
Department does not levy fines for sanitary violations. Should an
inspection discover such violations the Department would work with
the facility management to correct those violations. If the
violations were of a very serious nature or management did not
respond appropriately, the Department would ensure that the facility
ceased operations until the problems were adequately addressed.
