Free Flu Vaccinations

The Casper-Natrona County Health Department has developed emergency plans to be implemented in the event of a major disease outbreak or exposure. These plans provide for the vaccination or distribution of oral medications to a majority of our population within a very short time frame. In order to test these plans an exercise has been scheduled for Saturday, October 20, 2007.

The Health Department will be providing vaccinations to prevent seasonal flu at two locations simultaneously, the Casper Citizens Senior Center, 1831 East 4th Street and at the Industrial Building at the Natrona County Fairgrounds. These vaccinations will be provided FREE to anyone over the age of 18 years, as long as supplies last. Vaccinations at both locations will begin at 10:00 am and will finish at 3:00 pm, or when supplies are exhausted. No one under the age of 18 will be vaccinated.

However, since the free vaccine is provided via a Federal grant, Medicare recipients must present their Medicare card and will only be vaccinated at the Casper Citizen’s Senior Center. At this exercise the Health Department will only be vaccinating to prevent seasonal flu, pneumonia vaccinations will not be available.
