Flu and Pneumonia Shots Still Available
We are now in the middle of flu
and pneumonia season. It is not too late to get your flu shot since
the season doesn’t peak until late February and March. Flu shots are
still available at the Casper-Natrona County Health Department for
$15.00.
Don’t forget about a pneumonia
shot. Pneumonia disease kills more people in the U.S. each year than
all other vaccine-preventable diseases combined. People at greatest
risk of pneumonia are those over the age of 65 and those with
special health problems like heart or lung disease. Anyone over the
age of 65 should have at least one pneumonia shot. Contact your
health provider to see if you are up to date on your pneumonia shot.
Pneumonia shots at the Health
Department are $45.00 and both flu and pneumonia shots are available
Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM and from 1:00 PM
until 4:00 PM with no appointment necessary.
Both flu and pneumonia shots are
covered by Medicare as long as you present your Medicare card. For
more information call the Health Department at 307-235-9340.
